It's a question a lot of people have been asking but how do you make money online? Is there an easy way to achieve this? Where do I start? Yes, you can make money online but it doesn't mean you'll just sit down in front of the PC and do nothing.
One way you can earn money online is by being involve in the advertisement business. This is no different from TV or Radio. To attract sponsors and advertisers you need to have a fan base. It's a common thought that the larger audience you have, the larger the possible earning you will get from advertisement. That brings us to Internet Traffic.
Internet Traffic is the volume of people coming to or from a website or blog. There are two general categories of traffic: 1) Constant and 2) Transient.
Constant Traffic
If you have a forum for a particular hobby (e.g. Photography) most of the users will be Photography enthusiasts who will visit that forum often to discuss about their hobby. This is what is commonly known as a Niche. Friendster, Myspace and Facebook are websites that have constant traffic because its users always come back to update their profile, keep in touch with their friends and community.
Transient Traffic
Students who uses the internet to research on a particular subject for their homework through a search engine and lands to a particular website where they find the information they are seeking is an example of Transient Traffic. More often than not, it's either they will come back to that site sparingly or maybe never again.
Now that we have identified the types of traffic, on the next chapter I will relate the type of traffic to the type of blog or website and advertisement you need to maximize your chances to make money online.
